Briefly Unavailable For Scheduled Maintenance

When a WordPress update, Theme update or Plugin update is disrupted. Your website will be stuck in maintenance mode. You will see a notification on the front end of your website. It does not go away, no matter how many times you clear your browser cache or reload your browser.

Please carry out the following steps to get your website out of maintenance mode.

  1. Login to your web server using your FTP program. We recommend using Filezilla, which is a free and reliable FTP program.
  2. Navigate to the root of your WordPress installation. It's the folder where you will find wp-config.php
  3. Look for a file named .maintenance and delete it.
  4. If you are unable to find the .maintenance file, you will have to set your FTP program to view hidden files. 
    Consult the documentation of your FTP program to find the setting to enable viewing of hidden files.
