The importance of having related posts in your website
The main purpose of the related posts is to help your visitors to explore more contents of your website instead of leaving after reading just the first post.
That alone should be enough to highlight their importance, but it's not only that.
Having related posts does not only help readers easily find the content relevant to the article they are reading, it will also highly improve internal links (SEO), decrease bounce rate, and have more page views.
The Hueman theme already allows you to show related posts at the bottom of your single posts.
The Hueman Pro theme Better Related Posts feature is a fantastic tool to design and customize the related posts, giving you the ability to choose several options to make them more and more effective!
This feature is specifically designed to speed up your single post page loading, when showing related posts, as the related posts thumbnails are loaded on demand.
Also you can choose to show as many related posts you want, without impacting on the page loading speed: by default the whole related posts block loading is deferred and loaded just before becoming visibile on page scroll.
What are the criteria Hueman-Pro offers to determine related posts?
The Hueman free theme allows you to show related posts whose relationship with the main post can be based on the following criteria:
- they share the same categories
- they share the same tags
and randomly ordered.
With the Hueman Pro theme this feature has been further enhanced!
You can show have related posts based on the following relationships with the main post:
- they share the same categories
- they share the same tags
- they belong to the same post format (gallery post format, video post format etc.)
- they match at least one of the previous three criteria
- no relationship
Additionally you can sort the related posts, in descending order when relevant, by:
- Random
- Number of comments
- Published date
How to customize the related posts criteria?
- Access the Better Related Posts settings
- Switch on the RELATED POSTS tab :
